Kronotsky Reserve

The most beautiful and unique place in Kamchatka is the Kronotsky Reserve. Situated on the eastern coast of Kamchatka, the preserve comprises all the island's natural zones, i. e. ocean coast, the tundra and the taiga, mountains and volcanoes. The Kronotsky Preserve stretches some 200 kilometers along the Pacific shore.
Vegetation of the Reserve is diverse. The abyss of graceful pines is only one place in the world. You are likely to meet bears, foxes, hares and deer here looking for food. Scores of bird species are to be found on the banks of the preserve's rivers and lakes. Most of rivers serve as spawning grounds for salmon.
The bright pearl of the Kronotsky Reserve is the Valley of Geysers. The Valley has more than 20 big and 100 small geysers. Each of them has own name, temperature and schedule of eruption. The streams of gases pull out from the land. These fair columns of the fallow stand in all the valley like the guards of this beautiful, wonderful land.
